Clayton is located in the old Canal Zone, on one of the former Military Bases of the United States. It is positioned at the opening of the Panama Canal directly in front of the Miraflores locks. Clayton is home to the New US Embassy

The new US Embassy is currently under construction and scheduled to be completed by the middle of 2007.

The new chancery floor area is over 120,000 SF. It is designed to provide each occupant with an aesthetically pleasing work environment and operated by state of the art equipment. This facility will consolidate all the embassy functions that are currently spread throughout the city.
