This beautiful lake front property is 500 meters from the town of La Arenosa on the Lake Gatun. About 1 hour west of Panama City and very near the large town of Chorerra. It's an easy drive from Panama City on the four-lane Pan-American Highway. The road to La Arenosa turns off the Pan-American Highway right after the town of Chorrera. The road is asphalted and in good condition. The property is on the main road to La Arenosa.

The key to the Canal across the Isthmus of Panama is Lake Gatun, formed by the Chagres River. At Gatun a gigantic dam was built between two mountains, 8,400 feet long and a half mile wide at the base. By means of this man-made mountain, the waters of the Chagres were pushed back and impounded in the valley of its 1,320-mile watershed, until they formed the largest artificial lake in existence - approximating in size, Lake Geneva in Switzerland. With an area of 164 square miles, a shore line of 1,100 miles and a capacity of 183,000,000,000 cubic feet, Lake Gatun rests 85 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, which it easily overlooks from a distance of about six miles. Its long been a popular spot with boaters, water-skiers, fisher folk, and even scuba divers.

This 12 acre lakefront property currently has one livable house and one unfinished house on top of a hill, with a great view and cool breeze. Original house by the lake front was originally a duplex. It can easily be converted back into a duplex and used as a rental. This property would be excellent for a fishing camp or resort or just a beautiful place to have your home. The land around the central hill is flat and perfect for keeping horses or starting a tropical fruit orchard. Property has electricity, city water and a water well. High speed wireless broadband Internet signal available in the area.

The Gatun at La Arenosa is an excellent fishing area and it is not uncommon to catch up 100 Peacock Bass a day. I consider Peacock Bass the best eating fish in Panama.

Sale price is $364,500. We can provide copy of an independent property appraisal report.
