The administrator of the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP), Iván Eskildsen announced that through a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Panama will invest in six tourism projects nationwide. It is estimated that by May 2020 the first disbursement of the $ 100 million loan will be made to invest in six tourist destinations.

One of those destinations is the community of Pedasí, located in the province of Los Santos. Pedasi has beautiful architecture and clean streets. It has a primary road, plaza and several civic places that are surrounded by quiet residential homes. It is known for being one of the main attractions in the Los Santos area. This land is surrounded by beaches. This is why many tourists choose this town when seeking out a place for water activities and sports. Surfing is among the biggest of attractions, particularly at the beach called Playa Venao. Real estate in Pedasi consists of many beachfront properties such as houses and lots for sale.

According to the administrator of the ATP, Pedasí was chosen based on technical criteria established by the Inter-American Development Bank.

During the V Tourist Cabinet, Eskildsen said that there is a planned investment that was made with the IDB in a manner consulted in Pedasí for the order of 14 million dollars.

Of that total, $ 6 million will be invested in tourist infrastructure at La Arena beach, $ 3 million for remodeling of paths and cycle paths, $ 2 million for solid waste management.

For the tourist interpretation facility, 600 thousand dollars will be allocated.

“These are very important projects that can really change the face of this area. If we strengthen the Pedasí tourist area and improve air and land connectivity, the economic income for the whole province will be improved,” Eskildsen said.

He added that this investment is already programmed, although it does not mean that it is the final plan.

That’s good news for Pedasi, but what about Bocas Del Toro, the country’s second-largest tourist destination?
