The Turkish engineering and construction giant Enka will settle and invest in Panama and has in its agenda to expand its service to the entire Latin American and Caribbean country.
The company is interested in installing their offices in Panama, in order to invest in infrastructure projects, roads and hospitals, in addition to exposing themselves regionally to a potential market of 700 million people.
Enka İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş. is a Turkish engineering and construction company founded in 1957 based in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey. Enka provides construction and engineering services through its subsidiaries in approximately 30 countries worldwide. As of 2017, Enka is the largest construction company in the Eurasian country.
Commerce, real estate, power generation, are other areas in which the firm operates, which in Latin America has subsidiaries in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Paraguay. It has a capitalization of US $ 5,457 million and more than 40,000 construction workers.
After the meeting with Enka company executives, President Laurentino Cortizo expressed interest in having prestigious companies invest in Panama, in order to bring new technologies and knowledge to Panamanians, the source said.
Cortizo said that ENKA, the world’s leading construction company, confirmed that it will install its operations in Panama, considering the country as the focus of investment in Latin America.
He stressed that, with the Public-Private Partnership (APP) model, this company will make a significant investment that will boost the economy and generate jobs.
The meeting was attended by the Minister Counselor for Private Investment Facilitation, José Alejandro Rojas; APP Secretary Saleh Asvat; Enka Business Development Manager Fatih Koç; the company’s coordinator for Latin America, Tansei Tugal; and the Head of Specialty, Didem Ertok Boyacioglu.
Enka is interested in moving to Panama to manage its businesses and focus on investments that through the APP the company will make in the coming years.
