The property is a model of sustainable development, designed and planted by permaculture master Bruce Hill. The land stretches from it's deep water dock on the protected bay and natural anchorage of Bastimentos, all the way to the beach side of the Island, ending just 85 linear meters from the middle of Wizzard Beach.
The property includes the 3rd highest hill on Bastimentos Island, with 2 distinct ridges running outward along the top of te island that roughly divide the property in half. On the protected bay side (which is also the side of the Island that faces town) the farm was once largely deforested cow pasture. The low land swamp was turned into 7 productive layers of interconnected canals and raised islands. These Canals or Chinampas function much like a winding river does in nature. They are spanned by various bridges and shaded by high value grafted fruiting trees.
