Highway inaugurated in Boca Chica, Chiriquí

The new Pan-American Highway in Boca Chica has an extension of 30 kilometers and developed through the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) with an investment of $23,877,998.66.

The project includes the construction of a fiscal dock in the town of Boca Chica that is 87% complete, viewpoints, rest areas and the improvement of local parks, strengthening the local economy and facilitating access to places of tourist interest.

It also includes the rehabilitation and improvement of the internal streets of Horconcitos, the construction of 3 vehicular bridges, the rehabilitation of the road sections from Boca Chica to Playa Hermosa and from Boca Chica to Playa Punta Bejuco and Gavilla, areas of great tourist activity.

In addition, it was reported that in the town of Bajo Mendre, the installation of 11.6 kilometers of power lines was carried out, which includes the internal electrical installation of 37 homes that directly and indirectly benefits the population.

Additionally, the new modular bridge over the El Progreso canal was inaugurated, which will benefit more than 15,000 inhabitants of the district of Progreso in the district of Barú.

The new structure, carried out by the Ministry of Public Works, has a road and two pedestrian walkways, significantly improving the mobility and quality of life of the community.
