Panama nominated to Tourism Oscars 2021

Panama has been nominated for the best “Leading Destination in the Mexico and Central America Region“, “Leading Beach Destination“, “Leading Destination for Business Travel” and “Main Nature Reserve“, among other outstanding nominations where it competes with the main exponents of the tourism industry globally.

Among the nominated Panamanian destinations, Bocas del Toro stands out , with the Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park nominated as a Leading Beach Destination in the Central American region, Isla Coiba in the category of Leading Insular Destination in Mexico and Central America and Barro Colorado Island as a Natural Reserve Leader.

The World Travel Awards celebrate its 28th edition this year focused on recognizing and highlighting excellence in all sectors of the travel and tourism industry worldwide.

The World Travel Awards were originally created in 1993 and are considered the most prestigious tourism awards in the travel and tourism industry, the equivalent of the Oscars, but in the tourism industry.

They are awarded annually in more than 80 categories, distinguishing the most attractive cities for travelers, the best tour operators, airlines, resorts, hotels, among other tourist goods and services.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Dubai on October 16, 2021.

Voting is open to the general public until July 26.
